Our pursuit is to serve as an intellectual factory where Language, Literature, and Drama scholars are produced with sufficient knowledge to engage their contemporaries from any other climes on theoretical issues that border on their areas of specialization without feeling inadequate or inhibited.

Our vision is to groom students to become proficient users of the English language with higher international intelligibility, and a bank of human talents from the triad units in the Department (English, Literature, and Theatre) as feeders of the Nigerian economy space.

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

The Department of English and Drama is one of the few Undergraduate degrees The Department of English and Drama is one of the few Undergraduate awarding departments with which the University started in the year 2004. The academic staff strength from inception to date ranks among the best in any university in Nigeria and around the world as distinguished scholars made the list. Following the favorable NUC accreditation in the year 2014, the Department started floating postgraduate programs in Masters of Arts (MA English and MA Literature), and Postgraduate Diploma in English Studies.

In the year 2020, we started a doctorial degree program (Ph.D. )in English and Literature. You are welcome to one of the very nucleus departments in one of the fastest-growing universities in terms of research, yearly admission requests, quality of graduates, and favorable reports from employers of labor, etc in and around Nigeria; The DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH AND DRAMA, KADUNA STATE UNIVERSITY.
